With time I have developed my very own massage style through different techniques I have learnt (such as swedish relaxing and decontracting massage, reflexology, energising massage, chinese Tui Na), in order to provide a very unique and intuitive treatment that suit each individual’s needs.
You may have heard about some of the techniques I mentioned, but the Tui Na Massage is quite different and special. It is an ancient Chinese massage technique that focuses on soft tissue treatment, skeletal alignment, and energy rebalance. This type of massage gives the ability to address both internal diseases and external injuries, as it follows the principles of the Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tui Na massage can resolve energy blocks and deal with stagnated energy caused by stress and traumas.
Tui Na can be used as an integrative treatment with Western medicine as well as other Eastern healing methods, such as Acupuncture, Gua sha, Moxibustion and Cupping.
Massage can be combined with:
Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots. Its main aim is to move blocked energy to relieve aches or stiffness and stagnated blood to heal associated diseases.
Moxibustion is a technique that involves the burning of mugwort, an herb that facilitates healing of certain conditions. This is done indirectly, lightening a cigar-shaped moxa stick and holding it close to the treated area for few minutes.
Cupping therapy involves placing plastic or glass cups on the skin to create suction, which facilitates healing by increasing blood flow, relieving tension, promoting relaxation and cell repair, as well as the whole energy rebalance.
Excellent personalised service from Laura. I’ve had benefit from it for my back and my whole body since her first session, receiving not only a treatment for my back pain but to my whole person. Laura’s studio definitely deserves the denomination “holistic care”.
